A new facility at Tyseley Energy Park in Birmingham is bringing rare earth magnet production back to the UK after more than two decades.
Developed by the University of Birmingham, the site is the first in the country to combine magnet separation, recycling, and sintered magnet manufacturing.
The project supports the UK government’s "Vision 2035: Critical Minerals Strategy", setting goals for domestic recycling, production, and diversification of supply chains.
Commercialization is being led by HyProMag, a University of Birmingham spinout now owned by Maginito, a subsidiary of Mkango Resources.
